Just yesterday, Oppo announced the N1 mini, which looks a lot like the original N1, but it’s smaller while offering less-advanced features. Now, it looks like Oppo also has a mini variant of its Find 7 smartphone - the company’s first handset to sport a Quad HD display (5.5 inches).

With WWDC 2014 opening on Monday, there is speculation that Apple will unveil one or both rumored versions of the Apple iPhone 6 next week. There is a model equipped with a 4.7 inch screen, said to be as thin as 6mm, and dubbed the Apple iPhone 6 Air. There is also a 5.5 inch phablet-sized model rumored, with the moniker Apple iPhone 6 Pro.

Will we see one or two new variants of the Apple iPhone 6 introduced this coming week at WWDC? A video allegedly shot in the conference room of the Moscone Center in San Francisco, shows a device that could be either the 4.7 inch or 5.5 inch iPhone 6. The image of the phone appears to be projected onto a big screen in front of a large number of seats. The only interpretation that makes sense is that Apple will be introducing one or two new iPhones at the developer conference.

One of our loyal readers owns the T-Mobile version of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3. He was generous enough to send us screenshots, showing us that his trusty phablet had just received an update that includes some features from the Samsung Galaxy S5. One of these is the Download Booster. This allows files of 30MB or larger, to be quickly downloaded by using a combination of Wi-Fi and the carrier's LTE network at the same time. Just remember that when Wi-Fi calling is being used, this feature is disabled.
For the measly amount of $1.29, Windows Phone users can have the Funny weather app keeping them up to date as far as the weather is concerned. Nothing terribly funny about the Funny weather app, but it does include plenty of data to help users decide whether to leave their house with an umbrella, or with sunglasses. The app includes a 5-day forecast for the city where the phone currently resides, based on GPS. Up to five cities can be monitored, each showing a five-day forecast.
Analytics firm Chitika went through a ton of data, and found that in North America, iOS 7 is running on 89.7% of the web traffic generated by the Apple iPhone. In February, that figure was 83.3%. Turning to the Apple iPad, in North America, 84.8% of the web traffic that originated from Apple's slates was running iOS 7. Back in February, the iOS 7 adoption rate on the iPad was 78.5%.
Dots was, and still is, a very addictive game. If there was one negative that could be said about it, it was that the game wasn't very deep. There was the endless mode, the timed mode, and the newly added challenge mode to give a bit of multiplayer. But, at the end of the day, you're just aiming for a high score and that's about it. The sequel, TwoDots takes the basic gameplay, but puts it into a puzzle format very similar to Candy Crush Saga.
When it comes to free-to-play mobile games, there is really one runaway king of the hill, and it probably isn't the game you would think of. It isn't Candy Crush Saga or Clash of Clans, but rather it is Puzzle & Dragons (PAD). The game is a phenomenon, and it has reached another milestone in North America, hitting 4 million downloads just 6 weeks after it passed 3 million downloads.

A firm that tracks smartphone sales in Japan, BCN, says that the number of Apple iPhone 5s units sold in the country, dropped by a startling 85% in April. In March, Apple sold 3.9 million units of its flagship model in Japan. That figure declined sharply to 570,000 units sold last month. And the Apple iPhone 5c has suffered through a similar slump, with Japanese sales of that model declining from 430,000 in March, to 150,000 in April for a 65% drop.
Not long after introducing the Iconia Tab 7, Acer today announced another Android tablet: the Iconia Tab 8 - which, of course, sports an 8-inch display. Unlike the Iconia Tab 7, the new Acer Iconia Tab 8 offers features that almost (though not really) make it a high-end device.
According to a report from Wells Fargo, the number of carriers that Apple deals with has risen to 323. The banking firm's analyst, Maynard Um, surely ran out of fingers and toes when he counted the number of carriers partnering with Apple. This figure is up since the middle of April, when the tally was 316. It is also a 15.4% gain since October, when Apple had 280 carrier partners.
It seems that Samsung could be working on a dust- and water-resistant variation of its Galaxy Tab4 family of tablets. The giant from the Far East has applied for the "Samsung Galaxy Tab4 Active" trademark in Norway, which hints us that a water-resistant slate is at least being considered by the maker. The trademark application has been filed on April 30 and although formal checks have been performed, it is still pending.
Two weeks ago, we heard that Samsung is about to roll a substantial update to its first smartwatch, the Galaxy Gear. It was said that the update will change the very operating system of the wearable – after the update, the Galaxy Gear was to run on Samsung's homebrewed Tizen OS instead of Android.

We've been hearing about an alleged Motorola Moto X+1 flagship upgrade for a while now, and the phone was even referenced on the company's own website several times. The other day a resident leakster posted a blurry image of what is supposed to be the Moto X+1 riding on the subway, which you can see in the slideshow below, and today we have one more eventual picture of the handset, courtesy of a Baidu user. It purportedly depicts the front of the flagship, which seems rather different than the one of the Moto X.
The great green Android robot lets you do many things with it, and is the most versatile mobile operating system out there. One of these things is creating app folders on your home screens, which has been a feature in Android for a while now. This way you can categorize and distribute your apps thematically, while some of the popular launchers or manufacturer overlays out there even do this for you, putting all GApps in a folder titled Google, for example, for faster, easier access, and reduced clutter.
