HTC ousted by Xiaomi in Top 10 global smartphone shipments ranking

As 2014's first quarter is behind our backs, the global list of Top 10 companies by smartphone shipments has seen a rearrangement. While Samsung is successfully holding the top spot with a headway that's more than double of its rival Apple's shipments, Xiaomi, the superstar start-up, which sells its phones in homeland China by the tens of millions, has broken into the list for the first time and ousted HTC from its 10th place. With this addition, the list is now half-Chinese, with fellow brands Huawei, Lenovo, Coolpad, and ZTE holding the third, fourth, sixth, eighth, and ninth places respectively.
