Microsoft Surface Pro 3 gets a software update ahead of launch

Some Microsoft Surface Pro 3 models will start shipping tomorrow, June 20, when customers should be able to find the tablet in retail stores across the US. Before that, though, Microsoft is rolling out a software update to the new slate.



According to ZDNet’s Mary Jo Foley, a Microsoft spokesperson confirmed that the update fixes the battery charging issue that some Surface Pro 3 units had since last month, while also adding overall performance enhancements. The update should be available to new Surface Pro 3 owners as soon as they set up the tablet.
