Gartner says tablet market will slow down in 2014

Analytics firm Gartner expects tablet shipments will show lower growth in 2014. Gartner expects shipments of tablets to rise 23.9% this year, lower than the growth rate that the sector had in 2013. Affecting tablet demand this year is lower sales of small-screened models, and an increase in the sale of phablets in South-East Asia. According to Gartner, tablet shipments will reach 256.3 million this year, from 206.8 million in 2013. In 2015, Gartner sees growth in the tablet market returning to 25%, with 321 million units shipping.
