Samsung Gear Solo expected to be announced at IFA 2014 to accompany the Galaxy Note 4

It looks like the Galaxy Note 4 isn’t the only new device that Samsung is getting ready to announce at IFA 2014 next month. According to Korean publication Yonhap News, Samsung will also introduce a new smartwatch, namely the Gear Solo that we first heard about earlier this year.



Unlike Samsung’s previous smartwatches (Gear Live, Gear 2, or Galaxy Gear), the Gear Solo will support SIM cards, thus being able to make calls by itself - so users won’t need to pair it with a smartphone.
