Sequel to the Xiaomi Redmi Note sounds like a monster

A report published out of China over the weekend, reveals specs for a high-end Redmi phone that Xiaomi is rumored to be prepping as competition for the Meizu MX4. The phone will be powered by an octa-core MT6595 chip from MediaTek, with 3GB of RAM. This is not the true octa-core chip offered by MediaTek, and relies on the Big.LITTLE architecture with four Cortex A-17 cores (with a maximum clock speed of 2.2GHz) and four Cortex A-7 cores (with a top clock speed of 1.7GHz).



The Xiaomi Redmi model will sport a 5.5 inch screen and is expected to carry a 20.7MP rear-facing camera and an 8MP snapper ...
