Android tacks on additional market share in the U.S. according to comScore's latest figures

It's time for the monthly snapshot of the U.S. smartphone market courtesy of comScore. As usual, our first look is at the individual platforms where the Android OS remains on top. For the three months ended in September, Google's open source OS had 52.1% of the U.S. smartphone market. That is up from the 51.9% share that Android held for the three months ended in June. The lead over second place iOS is now 10.4 percentage points, up from the 9.8 percentage point lead that Android had for the June quarter.
