Omate takes the wraps off of two smartwatches

Omate has unveiled a pair of smartwatches. Both wearables are driven by the MediaTek MT2502 "Astor" chip, and run on proprietary software. One model, called the Racer, can be pre-ordered starting tomorrow for $99. That price is good until January 15th, at which time the price will be hiked to $129. Shipments of the watch are expected to start some time next month. The other model is called the Roma, and both watches are expected to be available in U.S. and U.K. retail stores by March.
