Google makes data encryption part of the activation process in Android L

Everyone is becoming far more aware about privacy and security these days, which is a great thing, because it means we'll be getting better options from manufacturers and software developers for implementing security features. Google is jumping on that train as well, and has confirmed that data encryption will be standard in Android L.


Specifically, Google has said that data encryption will be part of the activation process on devices, which effectively makes it standard, and more importantly from a user perspective, something "you won't even have to think about turning it on." ...
